Write down goals you want to achieve on a paper. Make them specific. But not too hard or too easy ones.

as an instructor of both, pilates is more for toning but yoga definitely produces some results. try a power vinyasa (or yogafit) class and you will see results. this is the kind i teach and i have had clients who say they are seeing results in their triceps, abs, etc. because they dont like lifting. pilates is a little more intense, with less stretching and less holding poses, therefore incorporating more cardio elements which amps your heart rate up. pilates was designed in the 20s based on gymnastics and yoga, so they are very similar. there are even pi-yo classes which fuse the two together for the benefits of both in one class. try all 3 if you can, and you will love the results!.***:D

yeah yoga is from stretching and calming pilates is more toning

Yoga is more for stretching so I'd say pilates.
