Succulents need a lot of bright light and very little water. Mushy leaves usually indicate too much water. Let the soil dry out completely before you water it again. Try placing it in front of a window on the east or west side of your home. You can also learn a lot about a plant by checking out it's roots. Pop it out of the pot and take a look. Healthy roots should be white. Brown roots have been over-watered. If it seems like it's mostly roots and no soil, then it is root-bound and you should step it up to a slightly bigger pot. Also, if the roots are girdled, (wrapping around and around in a circular pattern), you need to break up the girdled roots and re-pot. Good luck.....
