Given only three points, only a 2nd order polynomial is needed.      y = ax² + bx + c   10 = 2²a + 2b + c   ...   point (2, 10)       11 = (2.5)²a + (2.5)b + c   ...   point (2.5, 11)           12.25 = (3.5)²a + (3.5)b + c   ...   point (3.5, 12.25)        10 = 4a + 2b + c        11 = (6.25)a + (2.5)b + c   12.25 = (12.25)a + (3.5)b + c ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ a = -0.5 b = 4.25 c = 3.5       y = -0.5x² + 4.25x + 3.5 If you really want a cubic function:  y = 0x³ – 0.5x² + 4.25x + 3.5
