I wouldn't use that stuff... but yes, it's fine. I wouldn't use it for the fats that are in it that allow it to last indefinitely. Go ahead and use it if you like.

You know what, that stuff is delicious, expired or not, you gotta use it! Expired ones have the best texture! I use icing that's 20 years old and none of my cats complain about it.

If it was just a couple months, I would say keep it. But that's almost two years. I say toss it.

It's nearly solid sugar for goodness sakes!
Sugar doesn't go bad or "expire" and it is used to preserve other foods.
That date just releases the manufacturer from having to warranty it forever.
Open one up, look at it, smell it, taste it, then do with it as you wish.
