Given that the interface of typical hard drives has changed over the last 10 years, and it will change again in the next 10 years, it will probably increase due to data recovery requiring obsoleted equipment.
Answer #2 | 22/12 2013 20:16
The price will not get cheaper. Data recovery experts are priced for companies. Individuals are a secondary market thus prices are not really intended for them.
Answer #3 | 22/12 2013 20:36
It won't get cheaper. If the hard disk is failing, you need to copy the data off before it fails completely.

I suggest you get it done now, I know techs charge so much these days, you could take out the hard drive and place it in a anti static bag and hope it will last until you can afford to get everything off of it then buy the new hard drive and windows (unless you have one already with windows) or if its not in use on your computer as of now and you have a new hard drive and windows installed then you could just place in a anti static bag and wait to see... but not to long... as the technology will become obsolete and cost more!

It will not go down. If you need to recover your data from your hard disk, what you can do is get a software for recovering files. There are several software for recovering files that are really reliable. Check it out online and check for reviews before using it.

Hi Victor, If the data/file is important then why you wait for the cheaper price. Just do it now !!
