You will always be constrained by who you are attracted to. People don't get married unless they actually like the other person (except in arrange marriages), so it isn't a matter of having more people to choose from. You've always got the same number of people to choose from (even if you can't marry them), but you only choose the gender that you are attracted to, and the person who interests you. Nothing changes as far as personal choice goes, but the opportunity to marry your own gender is opening up in many parts of the world. That's the only difference.
