I believe that if you actually have an account you log into and everything, all your characters and things will stay there. I had WoW in the past but got rid of it for a few years. After coming back, everything was still in my account.

It'll be fine, Blizzard doesn't delete accounts or would be really rare. If you're over level 20 then it sounds like you do have a regular account, no matter if with or without all expansions and/or a reoccurring subscription. It'll be there still. If I look it up on their website even an old character I had for a 10 day trial (before the unlimited Starter Edition existed) is still listed there from four years ago.

If your characters exceed level 20, then you don't have a trial account. You probably just have the regular game and no other expansions. As for your question now, your account will be safe, but depending on the time that it remains frozen, some items might disappear. This is what happened to my boyfriend when he didn't play for ~2 years time. He lost most of his banks' items and a few mounts and gear that he had equipped. The thing is that if you remember correctly what is missing, Blizzard can get it back for you. Or that's what I read anyway.
