Water pumps, oil pumps, and oil pressure switches have no effect on the transmission. If it feels different you may be unaccustomed to it, the battery may have been disconnected during work which will erase memory the PCM uses to know when to shift depending on how you like to drive, it is common for grandma to bring her car in complaining of strange shift patterns after letting their grandson borrow the car for the weekend (get my drift?) in that case we would do so, resetting the PCM(power train control module), and tell her to drive it for a little while
