Because having more than 3 kid is frowned upon in society. Control your birth rates and try not to be a drain on society.

No thanks. It's not irrational... it's just not something we want or very responsible.... to keep producing offspring that we won't be around to care for in the long run.

It is only very recently that any sort of choice was possible. No birth control is 100 percent so even planning might not work out the way you think

This nearly exact question was asked a year ago (source link). It's not 'irrational' if they want, and can afford to properly support, lots of kids.

why are you asking this question again. Its irrational because the average couple can only financially afford 2-3 kids. If they cant feed 4 it would be irrational and irresponsible to have 5-6.
