because we live in a society that is very materialistic. There are thousands of animals being mistreated all around the world, and even here in the united states. Animals, such as rats are being used to test items such as lipstick and hair shapoo, before they reach the hands of humans. Another barbaric act is the killing of innocent leopards and tigers in order to make fur for clothing. I think this situation is just wrong , but it is not going to end anytime soon. that is a shame

Billions of us have compassion for animals. I have 5 in my home right now who have a very good life. I support the ASPCA and several other organizations that work to protect animals. Are you a vegan?
Answer #4 | 24/07 2014 09:47
because meat eaters belong to the stone age and they don't want to improve.
Answer #5 | 23/07 2014 23:57
Most people don't have an understanding of animals or the challenges they face. Compassion is often a word that is misused. People aren't so concerned with the welfare of animal populations as they are with their poor little heart and the way it feels when something has to die.

It is really a sorry state of affairs. I am equally concerned about this serious issue. It shows that people are not strictly adhering to any highest level of moral standards. You see there is severe dearth of proper guides in the whole world. United Nations Organization has advised all the Member Nations to inculcate the habit of introducing Moral Education in the school curriculum in future. I hope the situation will improve. On your part, introduce the system of "Each one teach one" among your near and dear friends and relatives. That is more than sufficient. It will be a social service.

Depending on your version on 'compassion for animals'. I have compassion for Dogs, I am a dog person at heart and love my dog to pieces. After all Dogs are a man's best friend, and I certainly wouldn't harm another Dog. I'm not a cat person although I would never dream of harming an innocent cat. I've seen animal rescue programs on TV and can't believe what these animals go through. In terms of meat eating if you're a veggie/vegan, I wouldn't consider this to be cruelty to animals depending on how they're raised and killed. For instance, I would prefer animals to have a happy life before they're put to use for human survival. Also to be killed quickly so they don't feel a thing or suffer. Because of the teeth we have it's a humans natural instinct to eat meat. Man has been doing this since the dawn of time, and without meat the human race probably wouldn't have gotten far as we did. Hope this helped.
