Your view is skewed. You sound a bit jealous. A close relationship with family is exactly what a man needs to provide a strong foundation for children to grow up in. Women are not seen as less when they do the same. I've never seen that.

There are no double standards. a man does respect a woman's feelings for her siblings and parents. you're probably misreading intents, or you need to tell your husband to spend more time with you. There is also a sub-consious reflex for a female to be threatened by other females with regard to her male, even if it is not valid, like the electra complex where she may not get along well with her own mother but much more smoothly with her father.

There are many different kinds of love. One doesn't love someone more than another but DIFFERENTLY than another. Hopefully and correctly love for a sibling or parent will be different than love for a spouse, NOT more or less. Be careful not to confuse types of love with love itself. All love is good . . . but types of love are confined to acceptable perameters or they fail to be love at all.
