Isn't it because of filters in the studio that filter out the noise in the background

Voice recorded through a phone is restricted in bandwidth to about 4 kHz, where as in a studio you are recorded with a bandwidth of about 20 khz. A true human voice has almost all frequency components in a bandwidth of 20 khz. Whereas the information content is mostly in the 4 khz band. For a communication system band width is a premium and kept to 4 khz to keep the cost low. Studio recording is for entertainment and naturally the required bandwidth is provided. the fidelity of voice is better the more the bandwidth is.
