I don't know what old people you are talking about. On this site it's mostly young people, and what older people like myself, don't get mad for what you like or don't like. Here it's mostly young people that are going to do that. take care dave

Haha... I'm 52 and my parents didn't like my music (the Eagles) back in the day, and for the most part, I don't like dubstep, heavy metal, and most especially rap. Basically, as parents we want our children to have our same values in life. I think parents mentally equate a "difference in music"with a "difference in values"--which may or may not be the case in each individual situation.

Agreed with Dave. If anything, I see more young prejudice than old anymore.

You got it all wrong....most older folks (Í don't consider myself real old but pushing middle aged) are very respectful of the younger generations music. Doesn't mean they like it but I'm not sure what "old people" you are referring too. To me the Beatles were the greatest band/group in history (to date). But does that mean I expect a 16 year old to think the ***doesn't mean I won't razz them though

The very same reason youth gets mad when older people (or any other people) don't know or like their favorite bands. In other words don't be so smug.
Answer #6 | 20/12 2013 11:25
For the same reason young people do.

the world is very BIG if your grand parents behave like this it does not mean all old people also do this.

At my venerable age, *cough* I find it to be the other way around actually. I know of a person who actually wishes it were against the law to like certain music.
