Happiness lies in the acceptance of things you cannot control. If you cannot let go of the things you cannot control then you will never be truly happy. A metaphor for this is a cup of water. Your desire is to make the water in that cup completely still. So you hold it in your hands and concentrate very hard to keep it from moving, and perhaps you can do alright for awhile, but you cannot quite manage complete stillness. Eventually your arms get a little tired from holding the cup and your mind gets a little tired from concentrating, so the water becomes less and less still. But you tell yourself that you can do it with more effort, so you try harder and maybe that works for a bit, but then your arms really start to ache and your brain starts yelling that it is getting too hard, but you are very stubborn and keep trying because you know that if you can just make that cup and that water stand still, you will be happy. And all along, the solution to making the water in the cup be still is to set the cup down. The water represents your happiness and the cup represents the things in life that you cannot control. The dogs barking, the nagging neighbors, the leery dustman. While you cannot shut them out of your conscience you can control your thoughts. Let them be themselves. Set the cup down, When you have an opportunity, perhaps you can move the cup somewhere more serene, but there will always be annoyances wherever you go, so wherever you are, set the cup - your desire to control - down. Let it rest of its own accord.

Why all this my dear...! Just ignore it all. Try to move around and away from what stresses you and makes you frustrated. But why the frustration. You need to start learning how to love yourself more than anybody else. This will drive you to taking a good care of yourself. Did it occur to you that you are the one who is watching them all? and if you are convinced you are not, then mean to ignore them all... Watch TV, read a magazine, or even better talk to friends and kill some time. How about approaching all those who irritate you? Just try to have a conversation with any of them!! Maybe you will find out you were wrong about them, and that they are good company. Try to change a little. This may help.

How does a garbage man stare at you if you are in your house? Dogs bark and neighbors can be avoided. I think you are making a big deal about things that don't matter at all.

You are sensitive and get easily upset because that is what you have decided you are by choice. Decide to be what you really want to be. Be the energy you wish to see. It has to be done in the present moment when you are at the helm to create the desired change. You are a lot more powerful than you give yourself credit for. Wake up and realize your full potential. :)
