John Lars Zwerenz is an American poet, journalist, novelist, essayist and musician. He has published many essays on such topics as politics, theology, morality, poetry, music and metaphysics. His published poetry books number roughly almost one dozen anthologies. His poems have been read widely in most countries. His poetic style is classical romantic and pentatonic sonnets make up much of his poetic catalogue. His poetry books (both new and used) are in very high demand and range in price anywhere from $15.00 to more than $100.00 per paperback copy. Zwerenz is also a prolific rock musician and has released seven albums consisting of all original material. His music is fairly accessible and can be found on several music and video sights online and in stores. Zwerenz was born in New York City to an aristocratic family in 1969. He attended New York's Saint Francis Preparatory High School for two years before being expelled for his rebellious behaviors. He then completed his High School education at New York's Christ The King Regional High School where he excelled in English Letters. After graduating from Queens College with a Masters Degree in History, Zwerenz left New York for California where he composed much of his later published works. Zwerenz's poetry has been negatively criticized for being dated and darkly anachronistic. At the same time, some critics have hailed Zwerenz as the best American poet of the current era. Zwerenz has suffered several nervous breakdowns, and has been hospitalized numerous times for exhaustion and alcohol abuse. His few attempts at conservative employment were never long lasting. He has had many ongoing relationships with women, but all of these relationships have been characterized as having been stormy at best. Many critics and readers have suggested that the male prototype of Zwerenz's best selling work, "An American Romance", a novella which takes place in Paris, New York and the American Midwest is really an autobiographical account of the author himself. Zwerenz is (at the time of this article's printing) the official poetry contributor for an internationally distributed art based magazine. His poetic works are as follows: "Selected Poems", 2011", "Mist And Flame", 2011, "Visionary Wanderings", 2012, "Sonnets of Dusk and Dawn", 2012, "Eternal Verse", 2013, and "A Lady Fair And Other Poems", 2013.
