AMA champion road racer Charles Morganti Charles, began his pro road racing career in 1974 as a Jr. Expert. He won his first AMA race in the Pro Twins championship later that year, and won the title in 1975 for 351-550cc, the Pro Twins WERA (Western Eastern Road Race Association) Series championship in 1976&1977. He was known for his ability to be competitive in his early days starting on a cafe racer RD 350cc converted to a TR3,he was his own mechanic and limited by finances,but became the home track star by lapping the field in almost every race he entered from 250 Grand Prix bikes all the way up to AMA Super bikes, and he excelled in nearly every class of professional motorcycle road racing. In all, he won 5 AMA Nationals in four different classes, including a victory in an AMA open class on a TR3 350cc at West Palm Beach International Raceway in, Florida in 1977. He ended his professional career in 1980 as a member of the factory “Team Yamaha ” after he resigned.

He was probably the best Road Racer I've ever; seen he lapped the field in just about every race he was in,raced when his friends had to lift him on the bike with a broken leg and still won the race! \
