My thoughts have have been that an afterlife does not require religion. When I consider how big the galaxy and universe are it seems metaphorical to me in a sense of how vast the "afterlife" is. I think the minds of of us all help to construct our views of heaven and other versions. That Christianity may have one version of heaven they will seek upon death, like Hindu's will have their own version they may seek and that the utter vastness of an afterlife gives many different versions of heaven people might ascribe to. Yet I think it all transpires in the same place more or less.

Faith is just an excuse word given when believers have no good reasons for their beliefs!!! If they had any good reasons faith would not be needed!!! Imagination is the only way to view a god and it cannot go from ones imagination to another's it is stuck in your head for life and can only do what you imagine can be done inside your mind, that is why no gods ever go rushing to ones side in an emergency they can't leave home without you!!!

Belief does not mean you have to belong to any particular group. Since we have free will, to think, and do what we choose, the choice is simply ours to believe or not to believe, in God, Jesus, the bible, or any group of people. As for me, and my family we will serve the Lord, and that is my choice. I have had so many experiences in my life, that most people would not live through, and I have survived, through prayer, and my belief. Believing is a strong motivation.

I don't think religion requires a heaven. I don't think an afterlife requires a heaven, either. I think that all there is, is "here", but with layers upon layers which you have to be dead or unborn or in trance or asleep or whatever to access.

You are correct and religion does not matter when you go to heaven. Our going back to the source of our being is contingent on one thing only and that is showing unconditional love for one another. Namaste
