I agree with @Nicole, but don't hang onto the past either. It might be what happened, but we make real what we make real now (in the present) so that the past is AMAZING. And if we mess up, we should always thrive to do better. And I agree with MOST everyone else. I don't know why everyone is saying the past is the most important. The past isn't, it is what happened. The past is called the 'past' for a reason, it is the past and is no longer 'what is'. What is truly important is NOW, in order to create a better future. Then your better future eventually becomes the 'past', then you can say the past if you want. But only if it's good memories would I bother to remember the past. I remembering the 'good memories' is the most important about the past. Creating NOW is the best for the present, and what you create now will result in the future. But there WILL ALWAYS be more than a few chances if you mess up. I would know I've messed up with friend situations for example and fixed them. There's always a way, no matter how hard, far, or your blinded to it. :) And I wanna say something about @gmgdgb post, I disagree, the past might be 'reality' as you like to call it (to you), but it is not. You sound like your doweling on it or something (Not saying you are for sure). The PRESENT IS REALITY because it is what is NOW. Am I wrong, think about it. I t is what is happening now, isn't that part of the definition of reality. Reality is always as they also say, "what you make real." So in a way the future is important too because creating your reality NOW effects your future and creates your reality. Reality is now (and helps create the future). Hope this helps you! :)

Past. future is uncertain.
| 22/12 2013 22:16
The past is a reality because it really has already happened. The future is unknown. Our destiny is not something who can control, the events perhaps, the outcome not.
| 22/12 2013 21:38
Since the future is uncertain, and the past is fact. The answer therefore is obviously the past. You knew that.
| 22/12 2013 21:35
past as you can not change it...
| 22/12 2013 21:02
If you believe that time is linear, then the present is more real than the past or the future. If you believe that all points in time exist simultaneously, then it's all real.
| 22/12 2013 21:19
There is no need of any doubt in that. Past is the reality. That had happened. We can't predict what will happen in the next moment. It is uncertain.
| 22/12 2013 21:33
the future because we live in the now changing our past in hope of our future even tho we change our future as well

which is more real, the future or the past? ~~~ Thoughts, the imagination, is just as real as anything else! Reality is ALL inclusive! It is schizophrenic to fragment that which is One! The 'future' and the 'past' only exist in/as thought! Imagination! Thought is a feature of Reality as much as the sun or a rock or a dream! Beyond your imagination, there is always only Here! Now!
| 23/12 2013 00:24
The past is gone. No longer real. The future is not certain and cannot be real. The present is real... Really!
| 23/12 2013 11:26
past is illusion and future is your dream. only real is present. Read --power of now to focus on present. Good luck

It's all the same

Since the past "conditions" both the present and the future (it would be impossible to argue that the past has NO effect on the now or the future), I would say it is the past. That is not to say that the present and future lack importance - all are interrelated - but the future has no "reality" in the present (the notions of Quantum mechanics have no relevance to this question, although they may be fascinating and stimulating).
| 23/12 2013 05:48
None of the two is real, only the present moment is real.
| 23/12 2013 00:25
The only thing that is real is everything! The only thing that isn't real is nothing! In other words, everything that is real is not nothing. There isn't anything that can be affected by nothing, except You.
| 23/12 2013 01:24
Neither... only the Now!
| 23/12 2013 01:44
"future" - is always created out from what is now("Present") "Past" - Now("Present") is the result of our past. Therefor "Present" is more important than anything
| 23/12 2013 04:19
Neither, they are both illusions. There is only "now". It's always been now, and it always will be now.
