The lowest natural point in North America is Badwater Basin in Death Valley, at 86 meters below sea level. The Homestake Mine (now closed) in South Dakota went down about 2440 meters, from a elevation of 1842 meters (6043 feet). So the bottom of the mine was approximately 600 meters below sea level.
