False, my friend. When the pancreas stops producing insulin, type 1 diabetes occurs ... unless the type 2 diabetic has had the condition for quite a number of years. Initially, the pancreas of a type 2 diabetic will produce more insulin. This is due to their body's cells being more resistant to the effects of the insulin that is being produced.
