Big business is good for the economy. The hire people. Liberals hate big business cause they don't want to work and think they should get everything for free.

When has government ever been in service of average person? If you knew history in-depth you would know the better question would be why people have not ever made their government start being beneficial for them (especially kind of crazy now where like literally everyone from average person to politician is outright in saying government officials are corrupt and still nothing is done). I think it has something to do with the perception blindness/bias that people have and of course the fact no one can be bothered to look into stuff themselves instead of just listening to someone tell them what the reasons/answers are (if they bother to do that). The entirety of American history gives a very distinct and consistent rationale behind ever single decision/action taken by the government up to this very day. The "rights" people have and the ones that people, previously excluded, gained at times are merely ink on paper if you've forgotten. These advancements in human rights came only after people acted collectively in numbers that political leaders believed the choice they had was to give concessions or face revolt (and a couple of times when used some forethought and did so before things got too bad). That fact is part of the deep philosophical meaning behind the saying about governments deriving their power from the consent of the governed and the concept of "unalienable rights" as well.
