i really really really hate to crush your dreams right here... but there is no such thing as an slr camera worth less than 300. If you want the quality, you gotta pay the price. Save up your money, those camera's are dope.

You can get a bridge camera. Bridge cameras are like dslr cameras. But they don't have interchangeable lenses.

Videographers use video cameras and you can find a good entry level Full HD vdieo camera under $200 dSLR cameras are not really video cameras. They are still cameras with a video feature and this is a link to what other accessories you need to by to make them into sort of viable video cameras. Have you seen any $300 dSLR cameras in your research? Here are links to websites that list the costs of dSLR cameras from entry level to pro. Pick one and start saving your pennies if you really want a dSLR. Otherwise look at JVC, Panasonic, Sony and Canon camcorders

If you don't want to listen to them and you want to get a dSLR, go for the Canon T3. It retails for $349.99 on Amazon, but I'm sure you can find one cheaper than that. This is similar to the T3i that I have, but not exactly the same. If you want to start off your cinematography career, just get the T3 and when you get some money, upgrade. The T3 also comes with an 18-55mm lens which is great for skateboarding because you aren't going to get too close, or too far. Also, this camera features in-camera video editing for when you need to do little quick edits. I am pretty sure you would use some software on your computer to edit, though. The T3 is a great beginner dSLR, which makes me wonder why some of the other answers include phrases such as "...but there is no such thing as an slr camera worth less than 300." This slr is great for stills, and for cinematography. Test it out first, and you'll see what I mean. If you don't like it, don't get it. This is my opinion. I hope this helps. ((:

Why do you want a DSLR? Just buy a camcorder which is dedicated to videos. You will get a lot more for your money.

I doubt that you would be able to buy even a used DSLR with video capability for under $300. You need another $100 or so for a decent used Canon T1i or Nikon D3100
