u can take it as often as u have $$ to do it. higher scores give u better chance at 4yr colleges. repeat testing get u higher scores.

I haven't taken the SAT yet, but I plan to soon. Don't compare your scores to others--they're just numbers. You can take the SAT whenever you want, as long as it's before second semester senior year. Take it whenever you're prepared, and you can take it multiple times, so don't fret about the times. A high SAT score will let you enter a prestigious/good school. But your scores of the sections within the SAT are just as important as the overall one. The majority of colleges look at your reading score to know how you think, so it's important to boost that. If you plan to major in humanities, score high in the verbal/writing section. If you plan to do math/science, score high in the math section.

Yes - in fact, that is the recommended time to take it. The higher your SAT score, the higher ranking the university you can get accepted to: Low Ranking State and Regional Universities: usually 1150 or 1200 and up Mid Tier State Universities: around a 1550 to 1600 and up Top 150 State and Private Universities: 1800 to 2000 and up Elite Universities: 2150 to 2250 and up Mine was a 2010
