I'm guessing you're looking for an intermediate step-up model. Personally, my favorite brand is Yamaha. Always reliable, well built, and there's rarely a dud. They have great tone and quality as well. Another choice would be Azumi. Both have some VERY good intermediate model flutes. I've had a Yamaha 481 flute for 5 years, and it's lasted me and done a wonderful job. Depending on your price range, the Yamaha 500 models are a good option as well, just a bit more expensive. You need something reliable that is good quality that will get you through the next phase (whether it's high school or college). If you're entering college, you may want to consider a professional model of Yamaha, the 600 series is what I'm currently saving my money for.

Gemeinhardt is a great brand. It's expensive, although most flutes are.
