An undergraduate is someone who is going to take a degree at uni A postgraduate is someone who is going to take a degree AFTER their current degree

An undergraduate usually has the word degree after it and refers to a bachelor's degree - usually a four year course of study. Postgraduate means graduation is complete and usually is used in conjunction with study implying someone working towards a masters, or taking courses beyond the bachelor degree level.
