Yes. I know a couple of married couples that have no children and want no children and are taking steps to prevent it ever happening. I also know a couple that didn't want children, never wanted children, but accidentally had a baby and they are the happiest little family I have ever seen. Sometimes you think you don't like children or want any and then find out that you were wrong... even if it was by accident.

My sister's husband died 3 years ago after a very long and purposely childless marriage. My 27 year old daughter has been married 2 years so far, and no kids yet. I'm kind of hoping for a grandchild, lol, but she has made it clear to her mother and me that she might never have a child. Oh, well - maybe our 21 year old will get married and have a baby someday!

Well my auntie and uncle are childless because they decided to put their careers first. But recently they've started having problems about this because my auntie says that she wants a child now and that he never wanted one before. Basically it's breaking their marriage up. She's 46 so it's probably late to have children now.

Courtship, as it's used in some circles today, means that a couple's parents (especially the woman's parents) are actively involved in the choice of a mate, and that their pre-approval is necessary before the courtship begins. It also means that two people don't begin a relationship unless both are interested in potentially marrying each other... in other words, no "casual" courtships or courting just as a social activity. The courting partners generally don't spend time alone together until after marriage; they're always supervised or chaperoned when together. All of this is done in an effort to make sure the couple are spiritually and emotionally well-matched, to minimize the chances of divorce. It also tends to be done in extremely conservative religious circles that frown on any type of physical contact pre-marriage. I can see some benefits to this approach, but frankly, I prefer dating. Courtship (to me) almost sounds like the marriage decision is made before you begin. I also think adults need a little more freedom than this type of courtship allows; if you can't trust them to go to the pizza parlor together without ditching their morals along the way, then something's wrong.

Courtship leads to marriage, and it happens when a daughter's parents are still involved in the decision-making process. Dating happens between adults who make their own decisions. There isn't any commitment involved in dating..***:D

Nothing if your goal is to eventually get married. Courtship is seeking a marriage partner. And dating is usually the same but not always as some people don't want to get married.
