The difference depends on what the two alternatives offer and require. In one school they may be almost identical, in another it may be possible to take the CPA exam with one but not with the other. So for the CPA, the first thing you need to do is find out what your state requires. Check the reference below. Yes accounting hard. It is the most demanding discipline in a business school and should not be taken by the average or below average student. Accounting majors tend to be above average students.The others drop out when they encounter the professional courses that take a lot of time to master. But the major leads to a respected and well-paid profession. Most states require 30 credit hours beyond the bachelors degree to qualify for the CPA.
