I used to like both of those restraints. Sushi Taro and Kushi however have both change there menu since I first started going to them and I currently like neither. Kushi is fairly expensive for a place that has what I find to have average sushi. They do however have some good non-sushi dishes so I would sometimes go for a mix of both. Sushi Taro is still known for having good sushi, but I stopped going when they changed their menu a few years ago. To be honest DC is not a good place to get sushi. I maybe a little picky because I will go to Sushi Gari or Yasada every time I go to new York. In my opinion both of them have much better sushi than anything I have ever found in DC but they are also fairly expensive. In DC I like the following places Kaz Kotobuki Sushi-Ko If you are looking for real authentic sushi, you are in the wrong country. The hump in LA is probably the only place I know of that had really authentic sushi, but they closed for serving whale. In the US most restaurants are required to flash freeze their sushi, even the very high end restaurants. If you want real authentic sushi, my recommendation is to go to japan. I had cheap conveyor belt sushi there that tasted as good as at some of the finest restaurants in the US
