Dont get the dodge dart. Sure its good on gas but if you get intense snow then your going to want that jeep. Besides, Jeeps are more reliable than Dodge.

If it snows heavily where you live, you may want to get the Jeep. It will have better traction and control in the snow.

The dart has not been out long enough to know it's reliability. I believe it's also using a new engine, with no known reliability. Gas milage will be quite better on the dart though. Snow: Just because it's a Jeep, doesn't make it good in the snow. The number one thing that impacts snow driving is your tires. Get snow tires and you are good to go in nearly any car. Remember, 4 wheel drive will help you get started, but it makes very little difference in stopping and turning. How much snow do you guys get? If it's significant, 1) A new driver shouldn't be driving in that. 2) You may need the Jeep. Contrary to what I just said, if it's constantly over say 6 inches, the extra ride height in the Jeep will help keep you from getting stuck. A few years ago, I would have given you a list of cars to look at, or stay away from. Cars have improved enormously in reliability and quality lately, so just find what you want, and take care of it. Good luck.
