Absolute distribution of the name 'Spangler': http://www.verwandt.de/karten/absolut/spangler.html The birthplace of the Spangler family is Bavaria, one of the oldest and largest of the German states. After the 12th century, heriditary surnames were adopted according to fairly general rules. Names derived from occupations were particularly common in this region. Spangler is an occupational surname for metal worker having derived from the German word spange, meaning a clasp or buckle of the sort such a craftsman might have designed. Cheers ebs

The Surname originates in German; it was an occupational name and meant someone who make pots and other metal items. It is no an "Aryan" and that is not a "race"
Answer #6 | 16/12 2013 23:20
You are confusing race with origin. The name may come from Germany... it is not limited to persons of any race. A black person may have the name, if their ancestor took the name following the Civil War. And I won't even go into "aryan" issues.
