The job has so many aspects to it that it really depends on many things. One day you could be training others to use an application, another day you might be troubleshooting a problem while another day you might be testing a functionality. For the most part is a desk type job. You get to go talk to nurses working on the floor, but is not something you on a daily basis. Usually you work 8 hour shifts, but on special occasions when you have a new functionality going live, you might work more, and you might have to work weekends. Also, if you work for a hospital, you might have to be on call, which means, you might get called at 2am to solve an issue, and some hospitals will still expect you to come in to work at 8am. Better find their policies on your interview process. NI nurses work in hospitals or for vendors, or for consulting companies. No, they don't interact with patients. And yea, they work together with other nurses. The bosses are other nurses or it could be an IT person. Really depends on the hierarchy of the workplace.
