euglena is the scientific name. Well part of it. Scientific names includes genius and species. For example the common brown rat, the genus is Rattus and the species is norvegicus, making the scientific name Rattus norvegicus. as stated euglena do not have common names, just the scientific names. Eulgena is not it's not species, it a genus. the scientific name would depend on the exact species of euglena. There are well over 800 species of euglena.
