Yes it will work. RPM will be around 2500 at 60 MPH. If you want lower cruising RPM you will need to use an overdrive transmission or change the rear end gears to a numerically lower set.

Yes it will work. But your RPMs will be up. If you want good cruising rpm go with a 35" tire. But you'd need a lift on the truck. Another option is look into a Gear Vendors. Yes very expensive but your savings in fuel economy will pay for itself in a couple years.

id go with a mid 80's built aod. it can handle the abuse as well as the fmx and has an extra gear, your gonna need it. it should bolt up.

If it were me..... I'd use an AOD built with 4R70W internals....this gives you a lower FIrst gear (2.84) for quicker acceleration, and a .70 Over drive for fuel economy. Being built in an AOD case makes the transmission operate by a throttle valve cable, so you don't have to pony up for a $700 "shift controller" to shift the trans like if you would if you went the full blown 4R70W route. .

A "Knuckles" built AOD. :D

I'm leaning towards the AOD as well.
