Northwest? You mean west of 281 and north of 90? There must be a couple hundred restaurants. So many I haven't tried. I havent been to any that I recall southwest of Fredericksburg road, and I suspect there are many good ones on the west side, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt. My favorite has always been: Los Barrios http://losbarrios1.com/default1.aspx La Fogata is another favorite though maybe not "traditional" http://www.lafogata.com/ but there are other good ones: Blanco cafe http://blancocafe.net/ Alamo Cafe http://www.alamocafe.com/default2.asp Mi Tierra's (open 24 hrs!) http://www.mitierracafe.com/ Las Palapas for "fast food" but I like Chacho's and TC(back in the day) too. http://mylaspalapas.com/ Good luck and happy dining!
