They all have plus and minus. I ride yamaha yz250f. My son has a raptor 350. My wife has a CRF 230. Down the street rides CRF 250, his son rides CRF 230, his wife rides CRF 150. Ride the most comfortable bike you can afford.

I've only owned yamaha my entire life. I owned a PW 50, ttr125, ttr230, then I just bought a yz250f. I never had a issue with them.

I've owned a Honda and Kawasaki, both dirt bike styled. I had no faults with either, and none gave me any problems. Both very reliable. So for me, it's either one of those two. I'd say Honda has alot more parts availability though, so it might be wise to go for Honda.

My son has owned three Hondas now and all have been as solid and reliable with parts readily available. Best advice, buy as new a Honda as you can afford and feel confidant about strong resale values. He followed prices on Craigslist, bought them at the right price, uses them, maintains them, outgrows them and either gets his money back or makes money when he resells! He'll typically move on to another Honda within 1-2 years.

I use Kawasaki, my dad has had every japanese brand but Kawasaki. My klx has never had any issues, just simple maintenance and it keeps on going
