So if this was a template strand, or a non coding strand you would say "ah ha, ATC goes to the coding strand TAG" then look up the amino acid, and go from there. however it says "Coding strand" so as you know coding strands go from 5' to 3' so start at 5'. instead of : 3' ATC CAG CCT AGA TGC GGA 5'? you will have 5' AGG CGT AGA TCC GAC CTA 3' it does seem like a sneaky question, and depending on the level of the test I might suspect a misprint, but maybe it is a question asking if you know the direction of Coding strands?
