include adds the contents of a file to the source code.

#define defines a word to be replaced by another as in #define PI 3.1415926536 so whenever the compiler sees the word PI it replaces it with 3.1415926536 include means just like it seems -- replace this line with the contents of the file specified #include means go get the file stdio.h and read it in as text as part of the source code
