i don't work at macy's but what usually happens at a seasonal job is you're usually done on the day of when you're told it will end (jan 4). some managers could ask you to stay with the company for a permanent job. that's weird that you can still pick up shifts! maybe there's a glitch? ask what's going on right away to your manager to check if you're hired for permanent! if you want to work longer and you're not asked, you should ask!

Maybe they decided to keep you on. If you want to keep working there then go to the shifts after Jan 4th. If you were fired you should expect a call or some one notifying you the next time you come into work. If they did fire you then you can always try to apply for a permanent position.

A direct supervisor will let you know if you will be laid off or offered a permanent position.
