Gould, Simulation Systems Division was originally part of Republic Aviation. An independent company, Hydrosystems, Inc., was created when Republic decided to stop simulation work on simulators and trainers for devices that they did not build the original equipment. Hydrosystems, Inc. was bought by Gould, Inc. in 1977 and later became the Simulation Systems Division of Gould. They were based in Melville/Farmingdale, NY but later opened an office in Tampa, Florida. The division was bought out by he General Manager and became Systems and Simulation, Inc. in 1986. Systems and Simulation, Inc. had financial and other problems and was bought by another company (I believe from Pittsburgh) in the early 1990's.
