In a non-religious context it means "trust" to me. In a religious sense it is the entire set of beliefs, rituals, organizations, leaders, and support for a particular religion. The main function of beliefs is to determine who is a member and who is not, consequently it is divisive behavior.

The belief that something is because I have seen it or learned about it. Something that can be repeated every time in experiments. Not something read about in a religious text.

Great question but I'm pretty sure that you'll get not so great answers. Faith really is simple and people try to complicate it by adding their own justifications. Here is an excellent answer on what faith is: There are three positions on faith. The first is that there is no such thing, the second is that it is simply a feeling thing (blind faith) and third is that it is a sort of tenacity which is what I think is the original concept of faith. To me, faith is not a blind thing blind faith is for stupid people who negate their own minds. I don't know why people with blind faith even have a brain but that's another story. This is another great post that you might want to read on 'is faith blind":
