This is something that governs my life. I am one of those people that depends on my mind to come up with right answers, and my wife is someone who depends on her emotions. Together we complement each other fairly well. Sometimes the mind knows best. It can reason out a situation, but it is without feeling. Logic does not pay attention to emotions, at least not if logic cannot reason it out. Sometimes the heart knows best. It seems to see the emotional reasons to things which the mind will overlook. That is my interpretation of the quote you've listed.

it is simply stating the differences between a natural instinct-from the heart..(say a hasty decision) and a situation in which you went through many thought processes -from the brain inorder to make the right decision.
