The same place you apply for all federal aid: www.fafsa.ed.gov Single, childless independent students are the least likely to get any pell grant money.

The pell grant is based on your income. If you meet with income requirements you may be eligible for the pell grant. The best thing to do is fill out the FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov and have it sent to the community college you are planning on attending. They will award you financial aid and it may have a combination of loans and grants. You are then able to choose which combination of which financial aid you would like. Do not shy away from loans. If they are something you need to complete your education, it is worth it in the long run.
