i would go for a gopro but there expensive

I agree with marcus, ONLY if you are using it for sports. The sound is a little bad, but nothing too terrible. If you're looking for something more professional, go for a CANON LEGRIA. They are pretty good. I own two right now and they are both great (FS200 and HF200)

What's you budget? Consumer camcorders range in price from about $50 to about $2,000. "Affordable" means different things to different people. "Good video qulaity" can be captured by ANY camcorder if it is used properly: On a tripod, good lighting (bright sunshine outdoors),. If there is no background noise, then the built-in mic can't record it - if there is background noise, then the mic will hear it and it will be recorded. This is one reason some people use an external mic - to get the mic closer to the audio source. If you plan to capture video indoors, you should also plan to invest in lighting... I like the Canon HF R400 for an entry level camcorder. You need to budget for a tripod and external mic, too. I use a Sony HDR-FX1 and NEX-EA50UH...
