If you want a reliable car buy Asian. Honda, Kia, Suzuki, Toyota, Kia, Subaru, etc etc. The Asians build good reliable cars.

Buying any 2001 car, no matter what the make is, is bound to be risky. It could be the most reliable car make in the world but 13 years of use and weather will have taken a toll. Any built in faults will now have been dealt with. There could now be all kinds of parts about to wear out and cost more than it is worth to fix. Go ahead and buy it after a very careful inspection by someone who knows what to look for but remember even that person will not have x ray eyes and will not be able to see and test everything. Buy that car and no matter what you do you cannot avoid the Used car Lottery - it could be trouble free for ages or break down with a fault not worth the repair bill the next day.
