Resilience is a capacity to bounce back from something that was detrimental Sustainability is degree with which something is repeatable. As an example, fishing in an area that takes a catch that does not deplete a species over time is considered sustainable. The rapidity with which a community can recover and be functioning with a semblance of normalcy after a wildfire is a measure of its resilience.
