Are the trains even running I'm not too sure about Belfast but they might be busy if they are Are you working or something? Try to avoid public transport if possible cuz if they are running they are bound to be busy

I think most people will have travelled by then. I hope you know that on long distance services you can reserve a seat in advance. This can be done at any any national rail station with a staffed ticket office My experience of travelling from Guildford (Surrey) to Ludlow (Shropshire) on Xmas Eve almost every year is that by the afternoon, the trains are not particularly busy

Most services will be busy - so book yourself a seat. If you can book one, you won't have to sit on a suitcase. If you can't book one, take a cushion as well.

At the moment there is disruption caused by the storm on 23rd Dec.
