Total rubbish. A proper charger will charge it at the correct regulated rate. And a good charger will permit the phone to stop carging when it is fully charged. USB charging is unpredictable. It is dependent on other USB devices connected and the power available on the USB bus. This can mean it under charges, and may even stop charging before the battery is fully charged. It is not regulated so it will deliver whatever current the battery takes, this can be too high if there is plenty of spare power available. And repeatedly under charging can create the problem of battery "memory" where some of the chemicals become hardened and it has a much shorter run cycle.
