if you have a PCI-e slot in your motherboard you can put another graphics card in but the you have to looks at the Power Supply as well and the form factors of the graphics card and your tower to see if it will fit and have enough cooling, look at the specs of the graphics card to determine what size Power Supply required

What do you mean by Update here - Is it Software Update or Hardware Update in terms of GPU. If you are talking about monthly software update of GPU, then there is no need to change Motherboard or any other part but if you are planning to upgrade your GPU then it depends which Graphic card you are going for. If you can tell me your specs, i can clarify more regarding this.
