Crossing your legs is normal when you twist slow and with a beginner's technique. If you go to open gym, work layout 1/2 with your feet together over and over and over again until you're sick of it, and you can do it without crossing your feet. The full will come quickly after with good form. Your legs bending also happen due to you forgetting. It's normal. When the twist stops being disorienting, you will be able to focus on the little stuff. Congrats on your new skill! :)
