The first responder 's answer is very good, I use Trip Advisor a lot. In fairness, I personally do not agree with every rating, but it gives you a good idea. Among my favorites are The Crossing in Clayton (expensive but superb), Trattoria Marcela in South City (moderate to expensive), Tavolo V in the Delmar Loop (less expensive but great food, in an interesting area of town), Milagro Modern Mexican (moderate) in Webster Groves, Rasoi (expensive) for Indian in the Central West End (followed by dessert at The Cupcakery!), Bristol's in Creve Coeur (expensive) and O' Fallon, MO for seafood. Oceano Bistro in Clayton and Chesterfield is expensive but also romantic and delicious. Personally, I would NOT suggest Tony's, not worth the enormous price, too pretentious. As for sightseeing, the Arch is overrated so don't spend too much time there. The Missouri Botanical Garden is absolutely great!!!! It is very romantic, lots of weddings there. Our Zoo in Forest Park is very nice, and the Art Museum is a walk away. Walking in the Delmar Loop and the Central West End can also be fun. Finally, if you are in town when the Cardinals play a home game, consider going, not romantic but fun! Anyway, enjoy St Louis!!
